- Central Domain: This region contains conserved Myc box (MB) motifs, MB1 and MB2, which are important for MYC's interaction with co-factors and the regulation of its stability and activity.
- Basic Region/Helix-Loop-Helix/Leucine Zipper (bHLH-LZ) Domain: Located at the C-terminus, this domain mediates DNA binding and dimerization with MAX. The basic region allows binding to E-box sequences, while the HLH and leucine zipper regions facilitate heterodimerization with MAX.

Classification and Subtypes
MYC belongs to the MYC family of proto-oncogenes, which includes three main members:
