ABTB2 is another member of the ankyrin repeat and BTB/POZ domain-containing protein family, playing a regulatory role in cellular signaling and transcriptional control. The BTB/POZ domain enables dimerization and interactions with ubiquitin ligases, suggesting a role in protein degradation and turnover. ABTB2 is highly expressed in tissues such as the brain and lungs, where it participates in regulating developmental and stress-response pathways. It is also involved in modulating cell cycle progression and apoptosis, linking it to tumor suppressor functions.
