Background

ADGRA2, also known as GPR124, is critical for angiogenesis, particularly in the central nervous system. It interacts with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling, mediating blood-brain barrier formation and vascular integrity. ADGRA2's extracellular domain includes thrombospondin type-1 repeats (TSRs), essential for binding to extracellular matrix components. This receptor also participates in Wnt/β-catenin signaling, pivotal for vascular development and stem cell maintenance. ADGRA2 is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and neural tissues.
