Descripción

ADGRA2, also known as GPR124, is critical for angiogenesis, particularly in the central nervous system. It interacts with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling, mediating blood-brain barrier formation and vascular integrity. ADGRA2's extracellular domain includes thrombospondin type-1 repeats (TSRs), essential for binding to extracellular matrix components. This receptor also participates in Wnt/β-catenin signaling, pivotal for vascular development and stem cell maintenance. ADGRA2 is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and neural tissues. Dysregulated expression or mutations in ADGRA2 have been linked to neurovascular disorders, glioblastomas, and other cancers, underscoring its significance in vascular biology.
