PLEKHA8, also known as TAPP1 (tandem PH-domain-containing protein 1), is a phosphoinositide-binding protein that interacts with PI(3,4)P2 to regulate intracellular trafficking and endosomal sorting processes. It functions in the recruitment of signaling complexes to membrane compartments, facilitating endocytosis, vesicle transport, and cellular polarity. PLEKHA8 is expressed in a variety of tissues, including epithelial cells, neurons, and immune cells, where it contributes to processes such as membrane dynamics, actin reorganization, and signal transduction. It plays an essential role in endosomal trafficking pathways, ensuring proper receptor recycling and signaling molecule localization.
