Neogenin 1 (NEO1) is a multifunctional transmembrane receptor protein encoded by the NEO1 gene, located on chromosome 15q22.31. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is closely related to the Netrin receptors, particularly the Deleted in Colorectal Cancer (DCC) protein. Neogenin 1 plays a pivotal role in a variety of biological processes, including axon guidance, cell migration, apoptosis, and tissue development.
