Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Secretin receptor (SCTR) is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) activated by secretin, a peptide hormone that regulates water and bicarbonate secretion in the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. SCTR is expressed primarily in the pancreas, small intestine, liver, and central nervous system. Upon activation, SCTR stimulates adenylyl cyclase, increasing cyclic AMP (cAMP) and activating protein kinase A (PKA), which drives bicarbonate secretion from pancreatic ductal cells, aiding in neutralizing gastric acid. SCTR also regulates gastric motility, bile secretion, and insulin release under certain metabolic states. Dysregulation of SCTR signaling has been implicated in pancreatic diseases, including chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, where altered secretin responses disrupt homeostasis. In the brain, SCTR plays a role in neuroprotection, learning, and mood regulation, with potential relevance to cognitive and emotional disorders. Targeting SCTR signaling is being explored for therapeutic applications in pancreatic diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and metabolic regulation.

Secretin Receptor (SCTR) Antibody
SCTR Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against SCTR. The protein encoded by this gene is a G protein-coupled receptor and belongs to the glucagon-VIP-secretin receptor family. It binds secretin which is the most potent regulator of pancreatic bicarbonate, electrolyte and volume secretion. Secretin and its receptor are suggested to be involved in pancreatic cancer and autism.
