We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
FFAR3, or GPR41, is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) such as acetate, propionate, and butyrate. It is highly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract, adipose tissue, and autonomic nervous system, where it regulates energy metabolism, gut hormone secretion, and immune responses. FFAR3 activation enhances the release of gut peptides like peptide YY (PYY) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), contributing to appetite regulation, insulin sensitivity, and glucose homeostasis. In the autonomic nervous system, FFAR3 modulates sympathetic nervous activity, influencing energy expenditure and blood pressure. Dysregulation of FFAR3 signaling is associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, as impaired SCFA signaling disrupts metabolic balance. FFAR3 also plays a role in immune function by regulating cytokine production and neutrophil activity. As a critical link between gut microbiota and host physiology, FFAR3 is a promising therapeutic target for metabolic diseases, obesity, and cardiovascular disorders.
