Descripción
DAPP1 (Dual Adapter for Phosphotyrosine and 3-Phosphoinositide) is a multifunctional adaptor protein involved in the regulation of cellular signaling pathways. It contains both SH2 (Src Homology 2) and PH (Pleckstrin Homology) domains, which allow it to interact with phosphorylated tyrosine residues and phosphoinositides, respectively. These interactions make DAPP1 a key player in the regulation of various cellular processes, including signal transduction, immune responses, and actin cytoskeleton remodeling. DAPP1 is especially important in immune cells, where it participates in the regulation of B cell receptor (BCR) signaling. Upon BCR activation, DAPP1 translocates to the plasma membrane and helps coordinate downstream signaling events that control cell survival, differentiation, and proliferation. It plays a role in modulating cell motility and the immune synapse, contributing to efficient immune responses. DAPP1 is also involved in the regulation of intracellular calcium signaling, which is crucial for processes like cell activation and communication. Its function is tightly regulated, and alterations in DAPP1 expression or activity can lead to immune dysfunction and have been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.
