Descripción
MRGPRX4 is another member of the MAS-related G protein-coupled receptor family, and like other MRGPRX receptors, it is involved in mediating sensory and immune responses. It is primarily expressed in mast cells, neurons, and other immune-related tissues. MRGPRX4 plays a role in the regulation of inflammation, particularly in the context of allergic reactions and pain signaling. Upon activation by endogenous ligands such as neuropeptides, MRGPRX4 triggers intracellular signaling that can lead to the release of pro-inflammatory mediators, including histamine. It contributes to the pathogenesis of allergic disorders, such as asthma and atopic dermatitis, as well as conditions associated with chronic pain and neurogenic inflammation. The involvement of MRGPRX4 in these processes makes it an attractive target for drug development aimed at treating allergic conditions, pain disorders, and inflammatory diseases.
