Background

P2RY12 is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by ADP, playing a crucial role in platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. P2RY12 couples to Gi proteins, inhibiting adenylate cyclase, reducing cAMP levels, and enhancing platelet activation and aggregation in response to ADP. It is highly expressed in platelets and some immune cells, where it regulates hemostasis, inflammation, and thrombosis.
