Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
NPBWR1, also known as GPR7, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds neuropeptide B (NPB) and neuropeptide W (NPW), two endogenous ligands involved in energy regulation, stress, and emotional behaviors. NPBWR1 is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), including the hypothalamus, amygdala, and brainstem, where it regulates feeding behavior, stress responses, and neuroendocrine function. Activation of NPBWR1 couples to Gi/o proteins, inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity, which reduces cAMP levels and modulates neuronal excitability. NPBWR1 is implicated in regulating appetite and body weight, as its activation suppresses feeding behavior and influences energy balance. Additionally, NPBWR1 modulates emotional responses, including anxiety and stress-related behaviors, by acting on circuits in the limbic system. Dysregulation of NPBWR1 signaling is linked to obesity, anxiety disorders, and mood dysregulation. Targeting NPBWR1 holds therapeutic potential for metabolic disorders, anxiety, and stress-related conditions due to its role in energy and emotional homeostasis.
