ANXA3 is a calcium- and phospholipid-binding protein that regulates membrane trafficking, signal transduction, and inflammatory responses. It is expressed in various tissues, including immune and endothelial cells, and plays a role in angiogenesis and immune cell function. ANXA3 regulates phospholipase A2 (PLA2) activity, influencing arachidonic acid metabolism and eicosanoid production during inflammation. Dysregulation of ANXA3 has been associated with drug resistance in cancer cells, particularly in ovarian and colorectal cancers, where it enhances tumor cell survival and chemoresistance.
