Background

GAB4 is a lesser-characterized member of the GAB family, sharing structural similarity with GAB1, GAB2, and GAB3. It acts as an adaptor protein that recruits signaling molecules like PI3K and SHP2 to receptor tyrosine kinases, activating pathways such as PI3K/Akt and MAPK. GAB4 is expressed in various tissues, including immune and epithelial cells, where it regulates cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation. Though its biological role is not as well-studied, GAB4 is suggested to contribute to immune responses, cellular differentiation, and signal transduction.
