Background
Fc Receptor Like 5 (FCRL5) is broadly expressed on B cells, including plasma cells, and is a key regulator of B cell activation and differentiation. FCRL5 has a unique extracellular domain capable of binding to IgG antibodies, modulating immune signaling pathways. It also contains ITIM motifs and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based switch motifs (ITSMs), enabling it to integrate activating and inhibitory signals. FCRL5 expression is increased in certain B cell malignancies, such as multiple myeloma, where it may serve as a diagnostic marker or therapeutic target.
