Descripción
ANXA8 is a member of the annexin family with calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding activity, predominantly expressed in epithelial tissues and certain immune cells. ANXA8 is involved in processes such as cell membrane organization, vesicle transport, and signal transduction. Its overexpression has been observed in cancers such as breast cancer and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), where it is associated with drug resistance, cell proliferation, and metastasis. ANXA8 has been implicated in angiogenesis and inflammation, where it regulates endothelial cell behavior and cytokine signaling. Its role in promoting tumorigenesis and its expression in pathological conditions make it a potential biomarker and target for therapeutic intervention in cancer and inflammatory diseases.
