Descripción

ADCY1 is a membrane-bound enzyme predominantly expressed in the brain, specifically in neuronal tissues. It is activated by G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and regulated by calcium/calmodulin, playing a vital role in generating cyclic AMP (cAMP), a second messenger critical for signal transduction. ADCY1 is essential for synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory processes. Dysregulation of ADCY1 has been linked to neurological disorders, such as cognitive impairments and epilepsy, due to impaired cAMP signaling pathways. Its expression and activity are crucial for calcium-dependent cAMP production in neurons.

ADCY1 antibody

Catalyzes the formation of the signaling molecule cAMP in response to G-protein signaling. Mediates responses to increased cellular Ca(2+)/calmodulin levels(By similarity). May be involved in regulatory processes in the central nervous system. May play a role in memory and learning. Plays a role in the regulation of the circadian rhythm of daytime contrast sensitivity probably by modulating the rhythmic synthesis of cyclic AMP in the retina(By similarity).
