Descripción
ACOT12 is a cytosolic enzyme that hydrolyzes short- and medium-chain acyl-CoA esters, contributing to lipid metabolism and detoxification pathways. It is expressed in tissues such as the liver, kidney, and adipose tissue, where it regulates intracellular fatty acid levels and prevents the accumulation of toxic acyl-CoA intermediates.
