Background

TMED6 is a member of the p24 protein family, which regulates protein trafficking between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC), and the Golgi apparatus. TMED6 functions as a cargo receptor, facilitating the selection and packaging of secretory and membrane proteins into COPII-coated vesicles for ER export.
