Descripción
Estrogen related receptor alpha (ESRRA) is a nuclear receptor that is involved in regulating energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, and cellular differentiation ESRRA, also known as ERRα, is activated in response to metabolic signals and plays a central role in regulating the expression of genes involved in oxidative metabolism, fatty acid oxidation, and glucose homeostasis It is highly expressed in tissues with high metabolic activity, such as the heart, liver, and muscle, where it helps maintain cellular energy balance by modulating mitochondrial biogenesis and function ESRRA is also important for maintaining normal brain function, bone homeostasis, and cardiovascular health Dysregulation of ESRRA has been linked to metabolic disorders such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as certain types of cancer where altered mitochondrial function and energy metabolism contribute to tumor growth ESRRA represents a potential target for therapies aimed at enhancing metabolic health and preventing diseases related to mitochondrial dysfunction
