Description
SLAMF1 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against SLAMF1. Following occupancy of the T cell receptor by antigen, T cell proliferation and lymphokine production are determined by a second costimulatory signal delivered by a ligand expressed on antigen-presenting cells. SLAM (for signaling lymphocyte-activation molecule, also designated CDw150) is a novel receptor on T cells that, when engaged, potentiates T cell expansion in a CD28-independent manner. SAP (for SLAM-associated protein) contains an SH2 domain and functions to inhibit SH-PTP2 recruitment to the SLAM docking site, an activity induced by Fyn phosphorylation of SLAM. Mutations of the SAP gene may be associated with X-linked lympho-proliferative disease (XLP).

Descripción
SLAMF1, also known as CD150, is a membrane glycoprotein and member of the signaling lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM) family, which plays a critical role in modulating immune responses. It is encoded by the SLAMF1 gene and is primarily expressed on the surface of several immune cells, such as T cells, B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. SLAMF1 functions as a self-ligand, allowing it to engage in homophilic interactions that are essential for intercellular communication in immune responses. It influences a variety of immune processes, including cell activation, proliferation, cytokine production, and cytotoxic functions. This molecule plays a significant role in adaptive immunity by regulating immune cell interactions, positioning it as a critical factor in the immune response to pathogens and in autoimmune conditions.

CD150 is a 75-95 kD member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, also known as SLAM (signalinglymphocyte activation molecule) orIPO-3. CD150, asingle chain type I transmembrane molecule, is expressed on thymocytes, T cell subsets, B cells, dendritic cells, and endothelial cells. The expression is upregulated upon activation. CD150 expression has been shown to be maintained onTh1 but notTh2 clones.Tregulatory cells express a relatively high level of CD150. Antibodies against CD150 have been shown to augment IFN-g production byTh1 cells, especially when co-stimulated through the TCR. CD150 associates with the src homology 2-domain-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2, and this association is thought to be involved in signal transduction. In combination with CD48, CD150 is a useful marker for hematopoieticstem cell studies.
