Background

Receptor Activity Modifying Protein 2 (RAMP2) is another member of the RAMP family that regulates the activity of GPCRs by interacting with the calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CRLR) to form the adrenomedullin (AM) receptor. Adrenomedullin, a potent vasodilatory peptide, plays a key role in vascular biology, angiogenesis, and fluid balance. RAMP2-AM receptor signaling is crucial for maintaining endothelial integrity, promoting vascular smooth muscle relaxation, and enhancing nitric oxide production to regulate blood pressure.
