Descripción
TAAR7G is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in the olfactory epithelium and is specialized for detecting trace amines and volatile compounds in the environment. It is thought to be involved in recognizing chemical cues associated with decaying organic matter and pheromonal signals, potentially influencing instinctive behaviors like predator avoidance and mate selection. TAAR7G exhibits ligand specificity for certain amines and is critical for chemosensory signaling pathways that translate environmental cues into neural signals. Its role may extend to modulating central nervous system activity indirectly through its response to trace amines that act as neuromodulators.
