Descripción

TAAR7D is a member of the TAAR family expressed in the olfactory epithelium, where it detects trace amines and other volatile amines found in environmental odors. It is particularly involved in recognizing chemical signals from decaying organic matter and certain social cues, potentially influencing innate behavioral responses such as predator avoidance or territorial behavior. TAAR7D is less studied compared to other TAAR receptors, but its evolutionary conservation suggests a specialized role in olfactory signal transduction. It may also contribute to modulating neurotransmitter systems by responding to endogenous ligands, linking it to broader neurochemical pathways.
