Rat Trace amine-associated receptor 7c (TAAR7C) ELISA Kit is an ELISA Kit for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Rat Trace amine-associated receptor 7c concentrations in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

Background

TAAR7C, like other TAAR family members, is highly expressed in the olfactory epithelium and is involved in sensing amines that serve as chemical cues in the environment. Its ligand specificity overlaps somewhat with TAAR7A and TAAR7B but is thought to be specialized for certain amines linked to decaying organic matter or social signals. Additionally, TAAR7C may contribute to neuromodulation via interactions with trace amines that affect neurotransmitter systems. Its function is less well-characterized, but its evolutionary conservation suggests an important role in detecting chemical signals essential for survival and social communication.
