Rat Sirtuin 2 (SIRT2) is a recombinant Rat protein produced in E. coli using Prokaryotic expression.
Sirtuins are a family of signaling proteins that play a crucial role in metabolic regulation. They are classified into two main types based on their enzymatic activities: mono-ADP-ribosyltransferases or deacylases. Sirtuins are involved in influencing a wide range of cellular processes, including aging, transcription, apoptosis, inflammation, and stress resistance. In humans, there are seven types of sirtuins known as SIRT1 through SIRT7. The first Sirtuin, Sir2, was initially discovered in yeast. SIRT2 participates in regulating microtubule acetylation, controlling myelination in the central and peripheral nervous systems, and influencing gluconeogenesis.
