Background

RXFP1 is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by relaxin, a peptide hormone involved in reproductive, cardiovascular, and renal physiology. RXFP1 primarily couples to Gs proteins, stimulating adenylate cyclase and increasing intracellular cAMP levels, which in turn affects smooth muscle relaxation, vasodilation, and cell proliferation.
