Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
LGR5 is another member of the LGR family, closely associated with stem cell maintenance and tissue regeneration. It is highly expressed in adult stem cells of various tissues, including the intestines, hair follicles, and the mammary gland. LGR5 is a key player in regulating Wnt signaling, a pathway that controls stem cell proliferation, self-renewal, and differentiation. In the intestines, LGR5+ stem cells are essential for maintaining the intestinal epithelium and enabling tissue regeneration after injury. LGR5 is also involved in the formation and progression of tumors, particularly in colorectal cancer, where LGR5+ cells contribute to tumor initiation and metastasis. Research into LGR5 is actively exploring its role as a biomarker for cancer and its potential as a target for cancer therapies that aim to disrupt the Wnt signaling pathway and inhibit tumor growth. Additionally, LGR5 is being studied for its role in tissue repair and stem cell therapies.

LGR5 antibody
Receptor for R-spondins that potentiates the canonical Wnt signaling pathway and acts as a stem cell marker of the intestinal epithelium and the hair follicle. Upon binding to R-spondins(RSPO1, RSPO2, RSPO3 or RSPO4), associates with phosphorylated LRP6 and frizzled receptors that are activated by extracellular Wnt receptors, triggering the canonical Wnt signaling pathway to increase expression of target genes. In contrast to classical G-protein coupled receptors, does not activate heterotrimeric G-proteins to transduce the signal. Involved in the development and/or maintenance of the adult intestinal stem cells during postembryonic development.
