APOA2 is the second most abundant protein in HDL particles and is involved in stabilizing HDL structure and influencing cholesterol metabolism. APOA2 interacts with enzymes like hepatic lipase and proteins such as CETP (cholesteryl ester transfer protein), which regulate lipid exchange and metabolism.
