Descripción
RAB9B, member RAS oncogene family (RAB9B) shares functional similarities with RAB9A, playing a crucial role in late endosomal trafficking and the recycling of cellular components RAB9B is involved in the transport of cargo from the late endosomes to the Golgi network, facilitating the sorting of proteins and lipids within the cell It regulates the internalization and recycling of membrane-bound proteins, helping to maintain the composition of the plasma membrane and the function of various receptors on the cell surface RAB9B also plays a role in regulating the immune response and inflammation by controlling the trafficking of immune receptors Disruptions in RAB9B’s function are associated with diseases related to defective vesicular trafficking, including cancer, where abnormal cell signaling and vesicle transport contribute to tumor growth and metastasis Furthermore, RAB9B has been implicated in neurodegenerative conditions, where impaired protein sorting and degradation lead to the accumulation of toxic substances within cells
