Descripción
Nucleoporin 85 (NUP85) is a key structural component of the nuclear pore complex, critical for regulating the transport of large macromolecules, such as RNA and proteins, between the nucleus and cytoplasm NUP85 is involved in maintaining the architecture of the nuclear pore, ensuring that molecular trafficking is highly selective and efficient It participates in both nuclear import and export processes by forming part of the pore's central channel and interacting with various transport factors that help shuttle molecules across the nuclear envelope NUP85 plays an important role in gene expression regulation, RNA processing, and protein synthesis by facilitating the movement of factors that control these cellular processes Dysregulation of NUP85 expression or function can lead to a variety of diseases, including cancer, where defects in nucleocytoplasmic transport contribute to altered gene expression and defective cellular processes NUP85 also has a role in cellular responses to environmental stress, helping to maintain the stability of the nucleus and ensuring proper cellular functioning during stress and repair processes By supporting key signaling pathways and the maintenance of cellular integrity, NUP85 plays a critical role in both normal cellular activities and in the prevention of diseases like cancer, making it an important regulator of cellular homeostasis

anti- NUP85 antibody
Essential component of the nuclear pore complex(NPC) that seems to be required for NPC assembly and maintenance. As part of the NPC Nup107-160 subcomplex plays a role in RNA export and in tethering NUP98/Nup98 and NUP153 to the nucleus. The Nup107-160 complex seems to be required for spindle assembly during mitosis. NUP85 is required for membrane clustering of CCL2-activated CCR2. Seems to be involved in CCR2-mediated chemotaxis of monocytes and may link activated CCR2 to the phosphatidyl-inositol 3-kinase-Rac-lammellipodium protrusion cascade.
