This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

SSTR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that binds somatostatin, a peptide hormone that inhibits the release of various other hormones, including growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon. SSTR1 is predominantly expressed in the brain, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract. It primarily couples to Gi proteins, inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity and reducing cAMP levels, which leads to the suppression of hormone secretion and modulation of neurotransmitter release. In the central nervous system, SSTR1 regulates neurotransmission and has a role in inhibiting secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary. Dysregulation of SSTR1 signaling is implicated in disorders like acromegaly, diabetes, and certain neuroendocrine tumors, where excessive hormone secretion or abnormal growth occurs. SSTR1 agonists, such as octreotide, are used therapeutically to treat conditions such as acromegaly and neuroendocrine tumors by inhibiting growth hormone and other secretions.

SSTR1 antibody

Receptor for somatostatin with higher affinity for somatostatin-14 than-28. This receptor is coupled via pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins to inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. In addition it stimulates phosphotyrosine phosphatase and Na(+)/H(+) exchanger via pertussis toxin insensitive G proteins.

Somatostatin Receptor 1 (SSTR1) Antibody

SSTR1 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against SSTR1. Somatostatins are peptide hormones that regulate diverse cellular functions such as neurotransmission, cell proliferation, and endocrine signaling as well as inhibiting the release of many hormones and other secretory proteins. Somatostatin has two active forms of 14 and 28 amino acids. The biological effects of somatostatins are mediated by a family of G-protein coupled somatostatin receptors that are expressed in a tissue-specific manner. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of somatostatin receptors having seven transmembrane segments. Somatostatin receptors form homodimers and heterodimers with other members of the superfamily as well as with other G-protein coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases. This somatostatin receptor has greater affinity for somatostatin-14 than -28.
