Nucleoporin 210 (NUP210) is a member of the nuclear pore complex that plays a vital role in the regulation of macromolecular trafficking between the nucleus and cytoplasm NUP210 is involved in the structure and assembly of the nuclear pore, where it contributes to the formation of the central pore channel that allows the selective passage of RNA and proteins across the nuclear envelope It also participates in the regulation of cellular processes such as gene expression, cell cycle progression, and DNA repair by ensuring the proper exchange of factors necessary for these processes NUP210 is particularly important during cell division, where it helps maintain nuclear envelope integrity and supports the organization of the mitotic spindle Dysregulation of NUP210 expression has been associated with diseases such as cancer, where defects in nucleocytoplasmic transport contribute to tumor cell survival, resistance to apoptosis, and metastasis Its involvement in cellular signaling, division, and stress responses underscores its critical role in maintaining overall cellular function and stability
