Mouse Hemicentin-2 (HMCN2) ELISA Kit is an ELISA Kit for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Mouse Hemicentin-2 concentrations in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.
Background
Hemicentin 2 (HMCN2) is a paralog of HMCN1 and shares similar structural and functional characteristics, including EGF-like and Ig-like domains that mediate interactions within the extracellular matrix. HMCN2 is particularly enriched in neural tissues and is believed to play a role in neuronal development, synaptic organization, and extracellular matrix assembly. Recent studies suggest its involvement in cellular adhesion and migration, processes critical during neural development and tissue repair. Genetic alterations in HMCN2 have been linked to neurological disorders, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and cognitive deficits, highlighting its importance in CNS function. HMCN2 is also under investigation for its potential roles in cancer metastasis and angiogenesis due to its regulatory effects on cell motility and matrix remodeling. Its diverse roles in tissue-specific processes make HMCN2 a protein of interest in developmental biology and disease pathogenesis.
