Descripción
DDB1 and CUL4 associated factor 13 (DCAF13) is a substrate receptor within the CUL4-DDB1 E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, playing a pivotal role in regulating protein degradation. DCAF13 contains WD40 repeats that facilitate substrate recognition and protein-protein interactions, enabling the specific targeting of proteins for ubiquitination. It has been implicated in the regulation of cellular homeostasis, particularly through its role in ubiquitination pathways that ensure proper protein turnover. DCAF13 has been associated with the control of transcriptional processes and may be involved in modulating the stability of transcription factors and other nuclear proteins. Although its specific substrates and biological roles are not fully understood, DCAF13 is thought to influence cell cycle regulation and signal transduction pathways. Its expression in various tissues suggests a broad functional relevance in maintaining cellular integrity and responding to environmental or intracellular stress signals.
