This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

HTR1F is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) and a member of the serotonin receptor family, involved in mediating serotonin's effects on neuronal signaling, vasoconstriction, and pain modulation. HTR1F is predominantly expressed in the trigeminal nerve pathways and meningeal blood vessels, where it regulates vascular tone and inflammatory responses. It is most well-known for its role in the treatment of migraine headaches, where activation of HTR1F receptors leads to the inhibition of pain transmission without causing vasoconstriction, unlike other serotonin receptors. Selective agonists, such as lasmiditan, specifically target HTR1F to relieve migraine symptoms by reducing the excitability of trigeminal neurons and limiting the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides. In addition to its role in migraine management, HTR1F may contribute to modulating mood, anxiety, and cognitive functions. Its unique ability to alleviate migraine pain without affecting vascular constriction makes it a safer alternative for individuals with cardiovascular risks. Ongoing research into HTR1F's mechanisms of action highlights its potential as a therapeutic target not only for migraine treatment but also for neuroinflammatory conditions, mood stabilization, and pain-related disorders.
