Descripción
MRGPRX2 is another receptor in the MAS-related GPR family, which is involved in immune and sensory functions. It is primarily expressed in mast cells and sensory neurons, where it contributes to the regulation of allergic reactions and inflammatory responses. MRGPRX2 is activated by endogenous peptides, including substance P, and plays a significant role in mediating the release of histamine from mast cells, leading to allergic symptoms such as itching, swelling, and redness. Additionally, MRGPRX2 has been implicated in pain signaling and neurogenic inflammation. This receptor’s involvement in allergic responses and its ability to modulate mast cell activation makes it a key player in conditions such as asthma, rhinitis, and other allergic disorders.
