Description
Integrin alpha M (ITGAM) Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against Integrin alpha M (ITGAM). Integrin alpha M (ITGAM), also named as CD11B and CR3A, belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. It is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles. Integrin alpha M (ITGAM) is identical with CR-3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component. It probably recognizes the R-G-D peptide in C3b. It is also a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X and ICAM1. Integrin alpha M (ITGAM) recognizes P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain.

Descripción
Integrin Subunit Alpha M (ITGAM), also known as CD11b, is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed predominantly on the surface of monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and some dendritic cells. ITGAM forms a heterodimer with integrin beta-2 (ITGB2) to create the Mac-1 complex, which is crucial in mediating adhesion and migration of leukocytes during inflammatory and immune responses. The protein plays a pivotal role in immune surveillance and host defense by facilitating phagocytosis, complement receptor activity, and migration across endothelial barriers. Additionally, ITGAM is involved in the recognition and clearance of pathogens and apoptotic cells. Aberrations in ITGAM expression or mutations have been linked to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune disorders. It is also a key player in immune evasion mechanisms employed by certain pathogens.
