To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.

Background

V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 2 (VSIG2) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is primarily expressed in epithelial cells across various tissues, particularly in the gastrointestinal and urogenital tracts. This protein is involved in cell adhesion and potentially plays roles in epithelial cell organization and barrier formation. It has been suggested to function as a mediator of intercellular communication and contribute to tissue integrity by maintaining cell polarity and suppressing excessive cell migration. VSIG2 is also of interest in cancer research due to its altered expression in various malignancies, such as colorectal and gastric cancers, where it is hypothesized to influence tumor progression and metastasis. Furthermore, VSIG2 may have immunomodulatory roles, interacting with immune cells to regulate inflammatory responses and maintaining epithelial-immune system homeostasis. Current studies explore its potential as a biomarker for cancer prognosis and a target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating tumor-immune interactions. The exact mechanisms of VSIG2 signaling remain an area of active investigation, particularly in its roles in epithelial tissue maintenance and cancer biology.
