RAB20, member RAS oncogene family (RAB20) is another small GTPase in the RAB family that plays an essential role in regulating intracellular vesicle transport RAB20 is involved in the movement of vesicles between cellular compartments such as endosomes, lysosomes, and the plasma membrane, contributing to processes like endocytosis and vesicular recycling It helps ensure the proper sorting and trafficking of proteins and lipids to their correct cellular destinations, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating key cellular processes like signaling, growth, and differentiation RAB20’s role in regulating vesicular trafficking is also crucial for processes like cytokinesis and cell division, where it helps ensure proper distribution of cellular components during mitosis Additionally, RAB20 has been implicated in controlling immune receptor trafficking, which affects cellular immune responses and inflammation RAB20’s dysfunction can contribute to various diseases, including immune-related disorders and cancers, by disrupting vesicular trafficking, immune signaling, and cellular mobility
