Descripción
Putative Annexin A2 (ANXA2P2) is classified as a pseudogene related to annexin A2, a protein involved in membrane dynamics, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal interactions. Although ANXA2P2 does not encode a functional protein, pseudogenes like it can influence cellular processes through non-coding RNAs that regulate the expression or stability of related genes. The parental gene, ANXA2, is known for its role in endocytosis, exocytosis, and the regulation of fibrinolysis, suggesting that ANXA2P2 may have indirect regulatory functions in these pathways. Dysregulation of ANXA2 has been implicated in cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases, and ANXA2P2 may contribute to these pathologies by modulating ANXA2 expression or activity. Further studies on ANXA2P2 may uncover its role in cellular regulation and its potential as a biomarker in diseases associated with annexin A2.
