Neurotensin Receptor 2 (NTSR2) Protein is a Recombinant protein from Human.


Background

NTSR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor for neurotensin (NT), with lower affinity compared to NTSR1. NTSR2 is expressed in the central nervous system, including the spinal cord, midbrain, and peripheral tissues, where it regulates pain perception, neurotransmission, and immune responses. NTSR2 primarily couples to Gi/o proteins, inhibiting adenylate cyclase, reducing cAMP levels, and modulating neuronal excitability and neurotransmitter release. NTSR2 plays a key role in antinociception, particularly in modulating chronic and neuropathic pain pathways. Compared to NTSR1, NTSR2’s effects are more focused on pain relief and anti-inflammatory responses, making it a promising target for analgesic therapies. Dysregulation of NTSR2 signaling is associated with chronic pain conditions and neuroinflammation. Selective NTSR2 agonists are being investigated for their potential to treat pain without the side effects associated with opioid analgesics. NTSR2’s role in pain modulation and inflammation positions it as a critical therapeutic target for analgesia and neuroimmune regulation.

If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.
