Descripción
LINGO4 is structurally similar to LINGO3, containing LRR and Ig domains that allow for interactions with other neuronal proteins and extracellular molecules. LINGO4 is primarily expressed in the brain and is involved in neuronal connectivity and axon-dendrite signaling. It plays a key role in the regulation of neuronal plasticity, influencing synaptic remodeling and neural circuit formation. Although less well-characterized than other LINGO family members, LINGO4 is thought to contribute to processes such as axon regeneration and myelin maintenance. Dysregulation of LINGO4 has been linked to cognitive impairments and psychiatric disorders, highlighting its importance in brain health and function.
