Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Cis-aconitate decarboxylase (ACOD1), also known as immune-responsive gene 1 (IRG1), is an enzyme that converts cis-aconitate, an intermediate of the TCA cycle, into itaconate. Itaconate is a key immunometabolite with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, as it modulates cellular metabolism and inhibits the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes like succinate dehydrogenase. ACOD1 is highly expressed in macrophages and other immune cells in response to inflammatory signals, such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS), playing a critical role in the metabolic reprogramming of immune responses. Dysregulation of ACOD1 has been implicated in inflammatory diseases and infections, with itaconate production acting as a protective mechanism against oxidative stress and pathogen growth. Its therapeutic potential is being investigated for modulating inflammation and treating immune-related disorders.
