Descripción
Members of this family exhibit elongated N-termini and harbor multiple functional domains. They are implicated in immune system functions and central nervous system activities. Through alternative splicing, numerous transcript variants are generated, encoding diverse isoforms. ADGRG5, also known as GPR114, is expressed in immune cells such as eosinophils and has a role in modulating immune responses. It is particularly involved in allergic inflammation, contributing to immune cell adhesion and migration. ADGRG5 is under investigation for its potential role in asthma and other allergic disorders. Its specific signaling pathways are not fully elucidated, but its immune-related functions make it a promising target for therapies in allergic and inflammatory conditions.
