Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
BTN2A3P is classified as a pseudogene within the butyrophilin family, meaning it does not encode a functional protein. However, pseudogenes like BTN2A3P can have regulatory roles, such as influencing the expression of related functional genes. BTN2A3P may modulate the activity of BTN2A1 and BTN2A2 or play roles in genomic architecture and evolution. Although its direct biological roles are less defined, it may contribute to immune regulation indirectly through gene expression networks.

The butyrophilin (BTN) genes are a group of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) associated genes that encode type I membrane proteins with 2 extracellular immunoglobulin (Ig) domains and an intracellular B30.2 (PRYSPRY) domain. Three subfamilies of human BTN genes are located in the MHC class I region: the single-copy BTN1A1 gene (MIM 601610) and the BTN2 (e.g., BTN2A3) and BTN3 (e.g., BNT3A1; MIM 613593) genes, which have undergone tandem duplication, resulting in 3 copies of each (summary by Smith et al., 2010 [PubMed 20208008]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2010].
