ACSF2 is an acyl-CoA synthetase that plays a pivotal role in the activation of medium-chain fatty acids by converting them into their corresponding acyl-CoA derivatives, facilitating their incorporation into metabolic pathways such as β-oxidation, lipid biosynthesis, and signaling processes.
