We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
ACSF2 is an acyl-CoA synthetase that plays a pivotal role in the activation of medium-chain fatty acids by converting them into their corresponding acyl-CoA derivatives, facilitating their incorporation into metabolic pathways such as β-oxidation, lipid biosynthesis, and signaling processes. It is predominantly expressed in metabolically active tissues such as the liver and kidney, where it helps maintain energy balance and lipid homeostasis during varying metabolic states. ACSF2 contributes to the formation of bioactive lipids and provides substrates for ATP production, making it integral to intermediary metabolism. Dysregulation of ACSF2 activity has been linked to metabolic disorders, including obesity and fatty acid oxidation deficiencies, where disrupted activation of fatty acids impairs energy production and lipid processing. Its enzymatic specificity underscores its critical role in maintaining cellular metabolic adaptability and systemic lipid regulation.
