Background
ADAMTS8 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 8) is another member of the ADAMTS family of proteases. Similar to other members of the ADAMTS family, ADAMTS8 contains several characteristic domains, including a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and thrombospondin type-1 (TSP-1) motifs. These domains play essential roles in substrate recognition, protein-protein interactions, and enzymatic activity. ADAMTS8 is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, heart, cartilage, and skeletal muscle. Its expression pattern suggests potential roles in tissue development, maintenance, and remodeling. ADAMTS8 is involved in various physiological processes, particularly in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. It plays a role in the turnover and organization of ECM components, including proteoglycans and collagens. Additionally, ADAMTS8 has been implicated in angiogenesis, wound healing, and inflammation. Dysregulation of ADAMTS8 has been associated with several diseases and conditions. For example, ADAMTS8 has been implicated in cancer progression, where it may influence tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis through its effects on the ECM and angiogenesis. Additionally, mutations in the ADAMTS8 gene have been linked to certain developmental disorders and connective tissue diseases.

Lyophilized To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.

Many proteins are synthesised as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form. 5. Polymerisation of the target protein.
