Background

Hemicentin 1 (HMCN1) is a large extracellular matrix protein that belongs to the fibulin family and is characterized by its multiple immunoglobulin (Ig)-like and epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains. It is primarily involved in the maintenance of tissue architecture and cell adhesion processes.
