Description
DOK1 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against DOK1. The protein encoded by this gene is part of a signal transduction pathway downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases. The encoded protein is a scaffold protein that helps form a platform for the assembly of multiprotein signaling complexes. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Background
Docking protein 1 (DOK1) serves as an adaptor protein involved in cellular signaling pathways, particularly those linked to tyrosine kinase receptors and cytokine receptors. DOK1 lacks intrinsic enzymatic activity but facilitates signal transduction by linking membrane-bound receptors to downstream effectors. It plays a critical role in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis by acting as a negative regulator of mitogenic signaling pathways. DOK1 is highly expressed in hematopoietic cells and is instrumental in immune responses. Dysregulation of DOK1 has been implicated in oncogenesis, particularly in hematologic malignancies, where it acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting excessive cellular proliferation and survival signals. Its interactions with Ras-GAP and other signaling molecules underline its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
